Well, we made it. There were several occasions that we were afraid we might not and if not for some very loving, helpful friends we may not have. First and foremost, thank you to all of our families and closest friends who were there for us when we truly needed it. As Walter Winchell put it, "A friend is one who walks in when others walk out." There were many days I was surprised people even wanted to come over. I felt like all we had was a messy house and screaming babies! Now, a year later, I know that's how it's supposed to be. Houses are never spotless (and true friends really don't care) and babies will always scream. Usually at the most inopportune time. Funny how you learn these lessons too late :) I guess it's so we can raise our children and grandchildren and help them though.
Work has been the same. Tomorrow is a day of doctor's appointments. Chris is taking the day off to spend with me :) So we'll probably have lunch before my first appointment, then my sweet friend Brooklyn is coming over to trim my hair (yay! So excited to find someone I like so much and is so good with my hair! And she lives just down the street!) then (honestly) take a nap. Trust me, without kids in the house it really is nice to just sleep! Then we'll be off to Franklin for some afternoon appointments. Nana and Aunt Leslie will be coming over to watch A and the twinkies.
Ok, I'm literally falling asleep typing this, so without further ado, here are some pics of the twins 1st birthday taken by our (incredibly talented friend and neighbor, Jay Parr). Enjoy!
Love,
E
